On
March 7, 2014, I practiced speaking the introduction and conclusion with the
script. To be honest, I did not practice for a long time. I just had to
practice pronouncing English because I had spoken English for long time. Even
if it was really tired since it was on Field Trip, I put my all energy left in
my mouth and try to communicate with the two audiences above. Although they
were not interested in my speech at first, they began to listen to my speech
carefully after I forced them to do so. However, soon, I quit practicing it because
I was so tired. The most important thing that I realized was that my pronunciation
got really awful. During the examination time, I barely spoke since I did not
have to speak English, but read the text. On Field trip, since I hung out with
my Korean friends, SungJic, Claude, Alex, and Daniel, I barely spoke English
too. I missed JF, Renzo, and Tim.
On
March 10, 2014, I tried to do extemporaneous speech because this informative
speech was to do extemporaneous speech. However, I realized that I am really
more comfortable with perfectly memorized speech than I do with extemporaneous
speech because I have a tendency to murmur or forget the lines. I am in a big
trouble. Even if my pronunciation got a bit better than before, memorizing
skill needs a great concentration and much time. Again, I feel so nervous.
Imagine grade 9 and 10 students are staring at me wondering the content of the
speech. I will definitely feel more nervous. I do not understand why I feel so
nervous whenever I deliver the speech even if I did several times. One of the
important things that I realized through this practice was to get an attention
of the audience. As one sees the picture above, Simon is not listening to me.
At first, I thought he would listen to me, but only Anthony gratefully listened
to me. Not all audience are not as attentive as Anthony, which means, there are
lots of types of audience. Therefore, I have to be well prepared not to be
embarrassed by unexpected factors.
